This year marks the centenary of Faulkner’s birthday and I think I should write a few words to commemorate him. A dozen years ago, I bought a “noise and commotion” and met the American old man with a pipe. I first read the preface to the book’s translator Mr. Li Wenjun up to 20,000 words. After reading the preface, I feel it does not matter whether I read or read “The Sound and the Fury”. In his preface, Mr. Lee said that Faulkner constantly wrote the stamp-size place in his hometown and finally created a world of his own. I immediately felt a great encouragement, jumped up, circling through the house, eager to immediately want to create a piece of my own new world.
