In acidic media, Os (Ⅳ) can catalyze the discoloration of KBrO3 tribromoarsenazo, which can be used to directly measure trace osmium in aqueous media. Beer ’s law was obeyed when the mass concentration of osmium was 1 0 ~ 20 0 μg / L. The apparent molar absorptivity was 918 × 105 L · mol-1 · cm-1.
