在多数人的印象中,英国设计的特征往往等同于欧洲古典风格和贵族气质。事实上,英国的设计一直没有停下脚步,一直保持着充沛的创新精神,在现代设计史上独树一帜。作为一个设计大国,英国设计覆盖面广,领域庞杂,很难用一两个鲜明的符号做出概括,但可以说,当代英国设计似乎并不注重让人炫目的外观,却十分强调只可意会的“人文追求”。英国设计TOP50是《英国卫报》最近评选出的一份设计师/设计工作室名单,向我们介绍了英国现当代最具代表性的设计精英,从中我们可以看到英国设计方方面面的成就与特点。下面让我们来看看他们中的佼佼者吧!
In most people’s minds, British design features often equate with European classics and aristocracy. In fact, the design of Britain has not stopped its pace and has always kept its spirit of innovation. It is unique in the history of modern design. As a design nation, the British design is extensive in coverage and complex in fields. It is hard to sum it up with one or two distinct symbols.
