武汉市是国家级历史文化名城。武汉的优秀历史建筑融西方建筑的古典浪漫和民族建筑含蓄典雅为一身,汇金融、商业、居住、宗教、外交、工业建筑为一体,集中体现了不同的地域文化、建筑艺术和武汉市近代经济发展和社会历史的演变,是不可多得的历史和艺术瑰宝。保护优秀历史建筑、保护建设历史风貌区是“文化强市”的重要举措。
Wuhan is a national historical and cultural city. The outstanding historic buildings in Wuhan blend the classical romance of the Western architecture with the subtle elegance of ethnic architecture. It integrates finance, commerce, residence, religion, diplomacy and industrial architecture and embodies the different regional cultures, architectural arts and modern economy of Wuhan. Development and evolution of social history are rare historical and artistic treasures. Protection of outstanding historic buildings, protection and construction of historical features area is “strong city of culture, ” an important measure.
