中国共产党优秀党员,久经考验的忠诚的共产主义战士,江苏省第五届、第六届政协副主席陈宗烈同志,因病医治无效,于2000年11月18日17时45分在南京逝世,享年77岁。11月24日下午,省领导同志和各界人士代表以及生前友人到殡仪馆向陈宗烈同志遗体告别。陈宗烈同志1924年8月24日诞生于江苏建湖县一个农民家庭。他青年时期就忧国忧民,追求真理。1939年9月参加革命,1940年10月加入中国共产党。抗日战争时期,从1941年初起,担任盐城县恒新乡分区区委书记,建湖县三区区委书记,射阳县委组织部长等职。他在党的领导下,充分发动群众,积极组织抗日武装,开展英勇顽强的敌后斗争,为创建和壮大盐城地区革命根据地,扩大人民武装,发挥了重要作用,做出了很大贡献。解放战争时期,陈宗烈同志历任射阳
