Citric acid salt is a normal component of human urine and binds to calcium to form a soluble salt. Reduced urine citrate excretion leads to the precipitation of calcium oxalate and the formation of urolithiasis. Urine Citric acid salts combine with calcium to form salts that dissolve more readily than calcium oxalate, thereby reducing the supersaturation of calcium oxalate binding. The authors used special enzyme technique to determine urinary citrate excretion in patients with stone and controls. At the same time using other methods for determination of calcium, magnesium, muscle liver. Then, statistical analysis was performed to calculate the magnesium citrate citrate (CMC) index (citrate × magnesium / calcium), setting out the risk factors for stone formation.
