在《开卷》上得知孙嘉瑞先生去世的消息,心里很难过,我曾有去北京拜访先生的计划,但终因各种原因一直没能实现。今孙先生已去,她所熟知的现代文学史料掌故也随之消逝,这对于现代文学研究者而言,无疑是一份难以追回的损失。我有幸在孙先生晚年和她有所接触,先生对我坦诚平易,有问必答,叫人乐于接近,因此受益良多。在与孙先生的交往中,我曾就《夜合花开》连载问题求教于先生,先生很快给我回信,对此做了详细的说明,我才得知其中原委。今先生已逝,我希望公布先生的回信,以备关注孙先生生平创作者参考,同时也藉此表达我的悼念之情。

Now my husband is dead, and I hope to publish a reply from my husband for reference to Mr. Sun’s creators’ life. At the same time, I would like to express my condolences.
