近年有些著名学者提出,应以“新人文精神”作为比较文学的灵魂。这一主张实深合于比较文学的一贯传统,因为无论在西方还是在中国,比较文学学科一向有其人文主义传统,正是这一传统构成了比较文学学科的内在精神和发展动力。因此,为使比较文学更好地体现人文主义精神,颇有必要认真回顾和清理各国比较文学本有的人文主义传统,它们不仅丰富而深厚,而且在新时代并未过时。对于传统不采取笼统和割裂的态度,而是加以充分辨识与融贯,正是人文主义精神的一种重要表现。
In recent years, some famous scholars have proposed that “new humanistic spirit” should be the soul of comparative literature. This assertion is closely integrated with the tradition of comparative literature, as comparative literature has always had its own tradition of humanism, both in the West and in China. It is this tradition that constitutes the intrinsic spirit and motivation for the development of comparative literature. Therefore, in order to make the comparative literature reflect the humanism better, it is quite necessary to carefully review and clean up the humanistic traditions inherent in the comparative literature in various countries. They are not only rich and profound, but also not obsolete in the new era. It is an important manifestation of the spirit of humanism that the traditional attitude of not adopting generality and fragmentation is fully recognized and coherent.
