一、石榴石的名称来源rn石榴石的英文名称为garnet,其名称来源有两种说法.一是现在普遍认为Garnet来源于拉丁语Garanatus,意为 “像种子一样的”,指代石榴——石榴石矿物晶体与晶莹剔透的石榴籽神似.二是根据《格古要论》中翻译的《矿物系统学》(笛奈氏Dana,A System of Mineralogy,p.439)描述,石榴石英文名称来源为“石榴子石(garnet)其名即从石榴(pomegranate)之字出,盖石榴多子而细,色红,此石极相似,故名因之”.
