砚台能够成为国之瑰宝,最重要的无疑就是他的文化价值,它是我国独有的艺术品,是中国传统文化对物质生活的反映和影响。砚台的具体形式体现了我国古代特定时代的精神、制度文化——即人的自我关怀,这种体现是经由手工艺人的创造,是个体对其生存于其中的文化环境的不自觉的反映。而在现代,随着设计成为人类独立于造物的自省的创造活动,这种通过造物对文化的反映越来越成为一种有意识的主体行为。这种意识的觉醒正是从实践中回归的对人的价值关怀由不自觉到自觉的转变。

The specific form of the inkstone embodies the spirit of a particular era in ancient China. Institutional culture - that is, human self-care - is manifested through the creation of handicraftsmen and an unconscious reflection by individuals of the cultural environment in which they live. In the modern world, however, this kind of reflection of culture through creation is increasingly becoming a conscious subjective activity as it is designed to be a creative activity in which mankind is independent of creation. The awakening of this kind of consciousness is just the change from unconsciousness to conscientiousness about the value of people returning from practice.
