问:什么是太谷核不育小麦? 答:核不育又称基因雄性不育,就是说,小麦的雄性不育性是由细胞核内的基因所控制的。在基因雄性不育中,又分为隐性基因不育和显性基因不育。在植物界的基因不育材料中绝大多数是隐性不育,而1972年在山西省太谷县为高忠丽同志所发现的那一株不育小麦,它的不育性则是由显性单基因所控制,是在小麦中第一次被发现的天然突变体。这个材料在研究过程中,有些单位称它为223材料、G型或晋型材料,今年9月由中国农业科学院主持,在北京召开的太谷核不育小麦研究协作会议上,农业部指示统一称为“太谷核不育小麦”。
