1937年6月2日,湖南第一纺织厂全体职工,为要求厂方当局废止私订的“职工待遇暂行章程”,恢复“工厂法”遭无理拒绝后,实行了总罢工。 全厂职工3000余人,于6月2日上午11时30分,宣布了总罢工。罢工期间,为维持工厂秩序,工人们自动组织了纠察队,维护工厂秩序。接着全体工人在工会代表陈天佐等32人的领导下,渡过湘江,举行了游行请愿。游行队伍到达伪省府,向省政当局提出废除私订的“职工待遇暂行章程”,恢复“工厂法”,
On June 2, 1937, all employees of Hunan No.1 Textile Mill implemented a general strike for the “Provisional Regulations on the Treatment of Staff and Workers” requiring the abolition of private bookings by the factory authorities and the unreasonable refusal of the “Factory Law”. The whole factory workers more than 3,000 people, at 11:30 on June 2, announced the general strike. During the strike, in order to maintain the factory order, the workers automatically organized a picket team to maintain factory order. Then all the workers, led by 32 people such as trade union representative Chen Tianzuo, crossed the Xiang River and held a petition.
