I. Overview of the Conference On May 18, 2014, the Fourth Academic Symposium on Second Language Teaching in Chinese was successfully held at the Central University for Nationalities. This symposium is sponsored by the Association of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and hosted by the Institute of International Education of the Central University for Nationalities. This symposium revolves around the theme of “International Chinese Teaching Theory and Practice Innovation”, from the aspects of innovations in Chinese L2 teaching theories, teaching methods and teachers in second language teaching in Chinese, and relationship between language and culture in second language teaching in Chinese Depth discussion on the second language teaching in Chinese
