1、午门概况午门是紫禁城的正门,位于北京南北中轴线上,居中向阳,位当子午,因而称午门。午门平面呈凹字形,沿袭了古代宫门双阕遗韵,由城楼和城台上下两部分组成。其中城台高约十二米,正中开有三门,两侧各有一座掖门,并在北侧东、西设上下城台的马道。城台上正楼面阔九间,进深五间,四样黄琉璃瓦屋面,重檐庑殿顶,建筑面积约1572m2。午门正楼的规模仅次于太和殿,是宫城四门中最大的城门
