第四届国际脆性 X 和 X 连锁智力低下(fra(x)和 XLMR)专题研讨会,于1989年7月4～6日在 Arden House 会议中心举行。自两年前的上届西西里会议以来,尽管在很大范围内已取得稳步进展,但 fra(X)突变性质的精确分子认识仍不清楚。Laird 关于 fra(X)突变可能反映在 Xq27周围失活区不能再激活的论点受到广泛关注。会议以如何检验该学说为中心,并认为该区域内的功能基因选择性表达的研究,似乎是目前希望所在。
The 4th International Symposium on Fra X and X Linked Mental Retardation (fra (x) and XLMR) was held at the Arden House Convention Center from July 4-6, 1989. Although steady progress has been made to a large scale since the last Sicilian meeting two years ago, the precise molecular understanding of the fra (X) mutation nature remains unclear. Laird’s argument that the fra (X) mutation may reflect that inactivation of the inactivation zone around Xq27 can not be reactivated has received widespread attention. The conference centered on how to test the doctrine and considered that the study of the selective expression of functional genes within the region seems to be the present hope.
