党的优秀领导干部的楷模牛玉儒,生前有“三气”。一是朝气。牛玉儒家境贫寒,只读到小学六年级。但他虚怀若谷,勤奋好学。通过自己进修,他的知识、胆识和能力非同一般。他不论当基层干部还是高级领导,都满怀激情、夜以继日、废寝忘食地工作。他身患重病,直到弥留之际,还念念不忘党的事业、百姓的冷暖。二是土气。身为市委书记,他出差从不住豪华套间,饿了就在路边小店胡乱吃点。他经常打的乃至步行了解民情,和群众打成一片。他汗衫背心、羊绒衫旧了、破了,仍然在里面穿着。人们说:“他这人,土老冒一个,死都变不了!”
