1999年10月9日上午,中华女子学院隆重举行了建校50周年庆祝大会.这次庆祝大会的主题是:与共和国同龄,与新世纪同行,大力发展妇女高等教育,全面提高妇女素质.全国人大常委会副委员长,全国妇联主席彭珮云到会祝贺并发表讲话.她充分肯定了新中国成立50年来中华女子学院所取得的成绩以及为培养妇女干部和女性人才、发展妇女教育事业所作出的积极贡献.她指出,现在和未来都需要大批具有高素质的妇女干部和女性人才,发展妇女教育事业的崇高任务,光荣而艰巨.当前,中华女子学院要深入贯彻《中共中央、国务院关于深化教育改革全面推进素质教育的决定》和第三次全教会议精神,充分发挥妇女干部与女性人才培养基地的作用,下大力量加强师资队伍建设,全面提高教学质量,为把中华女子学院办成一所新型的、现代化的、独具特色和质量优良的女子高等学府而努力奋斗!
