1992年初夏的一天,孟长寿正为筹备中的贵族幼稚园在成都市区搞社会调查。行至成都新南门的他,偶然发现了一个小孩孤零零地坐在街边的轮椅上,甚是可怜。就在这一刻,他放弃了原来的计划。1993年5月16日是中国第三个助残日,这天,在成都市东郊中和镇首创了我国第一家全托制专为残障孩子服务的综合性学校——圣爱幼稚园。创始人就是孟长寿、徐斌夫妇。
