The Second Artillery Corps - China’s Strategic Missile Unit is the “killer” unit of our military and plays a nuclear deterrent role in the nuclear blackmail countries in the world. In July 1959, the PLA Artillery Corps expanded its first teaching camp into a ground missile battalion, the first of its kind to be a missile force. In January 1964, a ground-based missile battalion was expanded into a ground-based missile group. On June 6, 1966, the Central Military Commission and Chairman Mao Zedong approved the suggestion of artillery commander Wu Kehua and decided to merge with the agencies of the Armed Forces Artillery Management Missile Force under the former Chinese People’s Public Security Forces’ leadership and set up the leadership of the strategic missile force
