经济全球化进程加快,是当今世界经济的一个显著特点和必然趋势,WTO作为各国与国际经济体系联系的纽带,在推进经济全球化进程中扮演着举足轻重的角色。作为一个农业大国,中国加入WTO既为实现农业的跨世纪发展提供了难得的机遇,也带来了新的挑战。我们应从实际出发,统一认识,分析利弊,综合运用各种政策和措施加快我国农业现代化步伐,增强中国农业的竞争力,以避免对我国农业发展和农村社会稳定所带来的负面影响。
The acceleration of economic globalization is a notable feature and an inevitable trend of the world economy. As a link between countries and the international economic system, WTO plays an important role in promoting economic globalization. As a big agricultural country, China’s accession to the WTO not only provides a rare opportunity for the cross-century development of agriculture, but also brings about new challenges. We should proceed from the reality, unite our understanding, analyze the advantages and disadvantages, comprehensively use various policies and measures to speed up the pace of China’s agricultural modernization and enhance the competitiveness of China’s agriculture so as to avoid the negative impact brought about by our country’s agricultural development and rural social stability.
