世界上第一个在体外受精、体内成长的试管婴儿,于1978年7月25日晚在英国兰开夏奥德姆医院诞生后不久,印度加尔各答又诞生了世界上第二名婴儿。据外国报载,第三名试管婴儿将于1979年2月在英国问世。自从英国妇产科名医斯特普托(C.Steptoe)和剑桥大学生理学家爱德华(G.Edwardg)博士成功地为英国布朗夫妇解决了多年不育的问题之后,试管婴儿问题引起了全世界的注意。
The world’s first in vitro fertilized, in-vivo IVF baby was born the second in the world in Calcutta, India, shortly after birth on the night of July 25, 1978, at Odum Hospital in Lancashire, England. According to foreign reports, the third test-tube baby will be available in England in February 1979. Since the British Obstetrics and Gynecology physician Steptoe (C.Steptoe) and the University of Cambridge physicist Dr. Edward (Edward G.G.Edwardg) successfully solved the problem of many years of infertility for the British Brown couple, the issue of IVF caused the world note.
