To commemorate the mankind’s first successful climb to the 50th anniversary of the world’s highest peak, the domestic news media made a lot of reports. However, most commemorative activities and articles are almost indistinguishable from those of Western countries and ignore the other side of Everest’s exploration history, either consciously or unconsciously. One of the historical facts: the first organized Everest summit Everest adventure activities organized by the British. According to the late Peking University Geographical Professor Lin Chao published in 1958, “the discovery of Everest and the name of” by the British Royal Geographical Society and Alpine Club jointly organized the first adventure was in 1921. From 1921 to 1953, 13 adventures of Mount Everest were organized, of which nine were hosted by the British. In other words, the earliest expeditions to Mount Everest were monopolized by the United Kingdom.
