非洲紫罗兰是苦苣苔科的一种室内观赏花卉,是当今国际上流行的观赏植物。它的叶片小巧、花朵美丽,非常惹人喜爱,被誉为“室内花卉皇后”。非洲紫罗兰是多年生草本植物,花期长,花色多,有白、粉红、紫、青、浓紫、紫花白边、白花红边、白花紫边等等;肉质叶,叶型叶色多样,节间不明显,株型呈莲座状,喜潮湿,要求有足够的散射花,光线太强时,叶部会失去鲜艳光泽而坚硬,同时叶面会出现黄色斑点或叶变黄。因其花姿艳丽,色彩斑斓,耐荫喜湿,适于盆栽。
