在全力推进民族团结进步创建工作中,吴忠市坚持从基层的基础工作抓起,举办社区邻居节就是一个很好的载体。通过这样的活动,把回汉各族群众,社区与居民之间的关系进一步拉近。到2016年,在吴忠市开展的社区邻居节已经走过了11个年头,每年邻居节举办的主题、时间等,每个乡镇都不尽相同,各有特色。邻居节已成为吴忠维护民族团结、和谐稳定的重要品牌和载体。为了加强邻里互动往来,促进民族团结,近年来吴忠市利通区、红寺堡区各乡镇、社区相继组织开展了厨艺大赛、趣味运动
