丑鸭(学名:Histrionicus histrionicus)体长33-54厘米,翼展56-66厘米,体重500-726克。具有非常丰富多彩的羽毛,酷似意大利哑剧中多姿多彩的角色——丑角,故名之。栖息和生活于溪流旁,岩石和灌丛间的深凹处、树洞中。常成对或成小群活动,非繁殖季节也集成大群。飞行迅速,但通常不高飞。主要以动物性食物为食。觅食活动多在白天。常在水流湍急的江河、山区溪流和多岩礁的海岸附近觅食。分布于冰岛、格陵兰、阿拉斯加海岸、西伯利亚东部、贝加尔湖
