今年第二期《戏剧报》发表了林涵表同志的文章《评〈牛郎织女笑开颜〉》。这篇文章虽然说明只是“对这出戏有一些意见”,“绝不是说这出戏完全要不得”;然而,细看起来,已是基本上否定了这出戏。以后,林涵表同志又在今年第四期的《北京文艺》上发表了《关于新神话戏的创作》一文,把《牛郎织女笑开颜》的缺点提得更高,甚而把它当作一出坏的新神话戏的典型再一次进行了批评。继林涵表同志之后,又有怀谷同志与紫玉同志相继在《戏剧报》第五、第六期上发表了主旨基本相同的两篇文章。我并不认为《牛朗织女笑开颜》是最好的戏,按照目前状况也并不认为它已是很好的戏(当然,经过作者的努力,它完全有可能成为很好的戏)。但作为它的普通观众,读了上述这些同志的意见,觉得与戏的实际相距过远,不能缄默,愿提出来和林涵表等同
