西宁种质库,是主要利用高原地区冷凉干燥的自然条件贮存种质的中期库。三年观测结果,在自然状态下,库内年平均温度8.8℃,相对湿度68.6%。用理论公式推算,该库种子发芽率降至50%时的开放贮藏年限,耐藏性强的作物为25年以上,耐藏性差的作物为6年以上。为使该库对耐藏性差的作物种子也能作中、长期贮藏,根据贮藏试验初步结果,提出采用铝盒密封包装,选择温度较低的阴面库存放,并控制入库种子含水量不超过8%,预计贮藏年限可达15年以上;如再辅之以冷冻降温,保持库内温度在0—-5℃,入库种子含水量在5—7%,则预计贮藏年限可达56年以上。
