一个小麦穗头只能由一粒麦种长出来,决不会是两粒麦种共生的。在一般肥力情况下,一个小麦穗头至少有30粒小麦。就是说,小麦从种到收,由1粒变成了30粒,增加了30倍,分蘖穗还未计算在内。现在小麦的每亩播种量一般是30到35斤,按30倍计算,每亩应获得900到1,050斤的产量。加上分蘖成穗,产量还应高得多。但是现实的小麦产量多数只在300斤上下。按30倍计算,似乎只有10斤麦种发挥了作用,结合田间观察,小麦分蘖成穗也还不少,把分蘖穗也算进去,发挥作用的小麦种只能是6—8斤了。这样说起来似乎有点玄乎,但事实就是这样,不必奇怪。如对产生这种情况的原因进行认真的分析研究,对于小麦省种、高产会有一定益处。
