After the publication of this magazine, the popular drama of “Hometown Drama” written by the contemporary famous opera historian and opera theorist Mr. Sun Chongtao has been widely welcomed by the readers and has also aroused great repercussions from the author’s hometown. In this issue, we renewed the frontier with Mr. Sun and published his preface to the sequel to the provincial capital. This essay, with its sincere emotion and the author’s round and round writing, elaborately and vividly and vividly described the works of Shaoxing, Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Toulan in Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Wenzhou in 1957-1961 Opera, Ou opera, Peking opera, Kun opera and dramas in the context of the Great Leap Forward, the class struggle and the advent of three years of natural disasters. The author chronicles his own theater activities and feelings, and expresses his unique and wonderful artistic evaluation of the creation and performance of the opera at that time. It is highly documentary because of its loyalty to the authenticity of history. Although this era is harsh, but the article without losing the fun and humor, but also full of the author sour and sad deep, read people mixed feelings. Mr. Hu Shih had advocated that all scholars should write memoirs in those days. The memories we read today from Dr. Sun show that this proposal is far-sighted. Mr. Sun had suggested that we publish a section on the older generation of dramatists and scholars recalling the past drama activities. We would very much like to accept this suggestion and hope that the older generation of domestic dramatists and scholars would like to give thanks.
