大量选用良种,充分发揮良种的增产潜力,是提高水稻产量的重要途径。解放以来,我省在水稻品种工作上做了很多工作,并获得显著成績。如在良种推广方面,先后推广了早秈南特号、蓮塘早、陆财号,早粳有芒早梗,中秈胜利秈、三九九,中粳桂花球,晚粳老来青、一○五○九等大量良种;这些良种在各地种植,一般比当地种增产10—15%,多的达20%以上。在地方品种方面,先后征集了各地品种三千多分,經过初步整理鉴定,已选出了一些优良品种,供生产上应用。在新品种选育方面,除选出中粳桂花球已在省内外推广外,最近又初步选出了几个有希望的新品种如早秈蕪农一号等。在引种方面,几年来共引进国内外品种一千多种,通过观察比較,鉴定出不少适合我省自然条件和栽
