In 1998, the basic technologies that are going to dominate the 21st century industry, such as gene technology, biotechnology, information technology, computer technology and nanotechnology, went hand in hand with each other and kept merging and developing together. The technology's use of short-range radio signals to exchange information on a common global “free channel” will revolutionize mobile communications and handheld computing.
