嘉兴掼牛是生活在嘉兴地区的回民智慧结晶,凝聚了当地人民对和谐生活的一种追求和向往,同时也是我国古代民族传统文化的重要组成部分。嘉兴掼牛展现了人和牛之间相互角力的竞技体育美,在整个运动过程中,无血腥场面、激烈、精彩、简练,而且具有很强的观赏性和艺术性,具有十分悠久的历史和地域特色,是嘉兴地区回民艺术文化集中体现,数百年来一直在嘉兴地区发展传承着,并且形成了自己独特的体育文化价值。
