自王肃《尚书》学一出场便站在了与郑学对立的立场上,因此历来很多学者认为王肃此举是为了依靠自己的政治优势,与郑学争夺经学界之地位。但通过对王注和郑注的异同比较研究,却发现王肃多站在古文家立场反驳郑学,且王肃反驳郑玄用谶纬解经,由此可见王注与郑注之争大多基于学术立场的不同,并非有意标新。
