2010年,贵州省作出实施“工业强省”的战略决定后,各地积极规划建设产业园区,投资建设了一大批标准厂房,筑巢引凤,加快推进新型工业化步伐。2013年,贵州省又作出巩固提高9年义务教育、实行3年免费中等职业教育的教育“9+3”计划的战略部署,力争到2015年,普通高中和中等职业学校在校生人数比例达到1:1,在校学生规模分别达到85万人,高中阶段毛入率达到85%,以县为单位基本普及高中阶段教育。
