为了使难加工材料能进行塑性加工,我们采用了一种新的挤压法。实验证明,这种方法是可行的。其方法是,在模框和毛坯之间插入固体过渡材料,压缩固体材料对毛坯产生侧向压力,这一侧向压力只有在毛坯受到模具挤压才有。另外固体材料还能保持毛坯的温度。最初的试验是在室温下挤压铝和锌,侧向压力的有效值估计和普通挤压法同一数量级。最后的试验是挤压Fe—6%、Al—10%、Si合金和阿尔尼科合金,试验温度是1500K,试验的方法和在室温进行的方法相同。试验获得了成功。
