Hong Kong’s pre-hospital emergency services are world class. With an area of only 1,046 square kilometers, less than 1/16th of that in Beijing, Hong Kong has more than 30 ambulance depots, nearly 300 ambulances and more than 3,000 ambulances. Hong Kong’s more than 6 million people can receive perfect emergency services at any time. The biggest difference between the organization responsible for pre-hospital emergency services and the Mainland is that it is not under the management of the Medical and Health Department and is affiliated with the Fire Department, which is called the Ambulance Command. Under the ambulance area, there is a perfect ambulance net covering Hong Kong. There are three ambulance operations in Hong Kong and two in each.
