猴群中的猴王不是上面任命的,也不是下面投票选出来的,而是凭实力打出来的。身强力壮的公猴在极其残忍的撕咬中争斗,胜者为王。尽管这一过程血淋淋的,但很多猴子还是对猴王宝座垂涎欲滴。因为,一旦当上猴王,就成了九五之尊,拥有至高无上的权力:与猴群中所有母猴交配的权力;优先享用美味佳肴的权力;侮辱、欺负甚至咬伤其它猴子的权力;杀死前猴王留下的小猴崽的权力等。但猴王也不光是优先享受,还优先承担责任,优先为猴群的利益和安危献身。
