北京京剧团演出的《沙家浜》,和中国京剧院的《红灯记》一样,都是京剧革命化的样板;由于它是根据沪剧《芦荡火种》改编的,因此看这一出戏,我们感到格外的亲切。一九六四年春,我们在北京演出时,曾经看过当时正在排练的京剧《芦荡火种》中的几场戏,得到了不少启发。后来,这个戏的京剧本发表了,我们修改沪剧《芦荡火种》时,就吸取了许多京剧本的成果。这次看《沙家浜》,我们受到了更深的教益。这出戏无论在思想性或艺术性方面,都有了很大的提高。
