《A Charity Walk》是牛津初中英语8B Unit 6的一篇阅读课文。课文介绍的“乐施毅行者”是由香港乐施会组织的慈善活动。学习本文是一次培养学生人道主义精神、团体合作意识的好机会,在设计这堂泛读课时,我紧紧围绕这根主线来开展。
本课以扎实英语基本功为前提,找准电子白板技术与教学目标的最佳整合点,实现课堂教与学的和谐互动,使阅读教学过程呈现动态性的、生成性的对话过程,使学生的英语能力和价值观在对话过程中得以培养和提升。
一、教学目标
知识与技能:使学生熟悉并理解课文内容;能通过图片、标题和上下文语境猜测课文大意。
过程与方法:发展学习技能;学会用英语介绍一项具体的慈善活动。
情感、态度与价值观:培养团队协作意识和国际人道主义精神。
二、教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
师: I will show you a video. Watch it, and then answer my question.
课件展示汶川地震视频,引出话题。
师:What is the video about?
生:Wenchuan Earthquake.
师:Yes, it is a video about Wenchuan Earthquake. Can you say something about it?
生:It happened on the twelfth of May last year……
师:What did you do to help people who suffered from the earthquake?
生:We donated some money to help people in need.
师:In the world , many people need our help. In your opinion, what kinds of people need help? Match the pictures with the people.
请一名学生在白板上连线。
课件展示上个单元所学慈善机构图标。
师:Organizing a charity event is a good way to help people in need. I will show you some logos of the charities we learnt in the last unit, please say out the names of these charities.
学生说出慈善机构的英文名称,同时用白板“透视镜”功能显示名称。
设计意图:利用“透视镜”功能显示上单元学习的慈善机构名称,引出逼真的语言学习情境和灵活有趣的教学活动,帮助学生实现知识的理解和建构。

师:Do you think Oxfam Trailwalker is a charity walk?
生:Yes.
师:Have you heard of something about Oxfam Trailwalker?
师:If you don’t know much about it,today we’ll have a further study.
教师从资源库调集图片,创设语境。学生根据上下文猜词义,理解课文。
师:Then match the words with the meanings.
学生在白板上进行词义配对,当堂巩固所学单词。
设计意图:电子白板的“显露”功能调用资源库中与Oxfam Trailwalker相关的图片,进行场景设置,学生通过创设的语言环境及上下文猜词义,形式新颖鲜活,激发学生的学习兴趣。
