长江口是分汊河口,在徐六泾以下,由崇明岛分干流为南北两支;南支在吴淞口以下又被长兴、横沙等岛分隔为南港和北港,南港以下江道再次被九段沙分为南槽和北槽. 现在长江口北支日益淤浅,河槽容积减小,正处于自然衰亡过程中,如何根据长江口河床演变规律治理好北支,发挥它应用的作用,是急待解决的问题.

How to manage the north branch according to the evolution of the riverbed in the mouth of the Yangtze River and play its role of application is urgent solved problem.
