This article describes a new method for the immunoassay of gentamicin - the quench fluorescence immunoassay. When fluorescently labeled gentamicin binds to the antiserum it causes partial quenching of the fluorescence, quantitation of the antiserum and the labeling of gentamicin, with which the unlabeled gentamicin is mixed
