Let’s briefly define: The so-called “field recording” refers to recording outside the recording studio. At a time when Béla Bartók tried to navigate Romanian villages in the 1910s recording local folk on wax tubes, this was probably a daunting task at the time. Appeared after World War II “portable ” tape recorder, making field recording gradually popular. However, people still can not imagine why some people are willing to carry fifteen kilos of equipment (bulky tape recorders, headphones, fragile microphones, a bunch of wires and batteries) through the Central African rainforest just to record Aka dwarves [Aka Pygmy] polyphony singing.
