1976年10月1日夜晚,天安门广场上空空荡荡,暗淡无光。由于毛主席刚逝世等原因,中共中央政治局决定不举行游行、联欢等庆祝活动,只是召集一些工农兵的代表在天安门城楼上开一个“首都工农兵学商群众代表国庆座谈会”。这是建国以来唯一一次没有任何大型庆祝活动的国庆节。
October 1, 1976 night, Tiananmen Square over the empty, bleak. Due to the death of Chairman Mao and other reasons, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee decided not to hold any celebration activities such as parades and festivals, but to convene some representatives of the workers, peasants and soldiers to open a “National Day Symposium on behalf of the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers in the Tiananmen Square”. This is the only time since the founding of the PRC did not have any major celebration of the National Day.
