汤一介先生是国内外著名的教育家、哲学家、中国哲学史学家、道教史研究专家,在中国哲学史、道教史、佛教史等研究领域都作出了重大的贡献。他在上世纪八十年代发表的《郭象与魏晋玄学》一书,在魏晋玄学领域堪称奠基之作。汤先生学术研究的特点是视域宽广,勇于创新,尤其注重对西方新的研究方法的借鉴。早在上世纪九十年代,他就多次撰文倡导引进西方解释学方法来研究中国古代的经学、哲学及宗教经典,现在这一研究方法已得到中国哲学史界的
Mr. Tang is a famous educator, philosopher, Chinese philosopher and researcher of Taoism history both at home and abroad. He made great contributions in the research fields of Chinese philosophy history, Taoism history and Buddhist history. He published in the eighties of last century, “Guo Xiang and Metaphysics Metaphysics” a book, in the Wei and Jin metaphysics can be called the foundation for the work. Professor Tang’s academic research is characterized by a broad field of vision and the courage to innovate, with particular emphasis on the reference of new Western research methods. As early as the nineties of the last century, he wrote several articles advocating the introduction of western hermeneutical methods to study ancient Chinese classics, philosophies and religious classics. Nowadays this method of research has been recognized by Chinese philosophical circles
