“史之为务,必藉之于文”(《史通·叙事》)——这句话不但体现了锤炼语言对于文章的重要性,更指出了锤炼语言对于史志的重要性。我们之所以说方志语言的重要,不仅是因为它是方志内容记述的直接载体,是体现方志资料性的唯一手段,更是体现方志语言风格的重要途径。丰富、鲜明、准确的语言形式是记述史实的基础,而“严谨、朴实、简洁、流畅、通俗”的方志语言的风格,更是对方志编纂具有重要指导意义。
