溴甲烷为无色液体,沸点4.5℃,在常温常压下,极易挥发为渗透力强的无色无臭的气体。因具有杀虫能力,故被广泛应用于熏杀粮食、仓库、车、船及地下的害虫和鼠类。其对人的毒性较氢氰酸为轻。如果生产中缺乏防毒措施,或不遵守个人防护制度,很容易引起急性中毒或慢性中毒,因此作业环境中需要经常对空气中溴甲烷含量进行测定,了解其浓度,以便采取措施,保护工人身体健康。有关溴甲烷测定方法较少,一般是水解后测定溴离子,间接计算溴甲烷的量,此方法用于测定空气中溴甲烷有两个缺点:
