本文采用问卷调查法和访谈法对天津两所理工科院校80名英语专业学生的英语读写能力现状进行研究,结果发现:(1)研究对象整体读写能力现状不容乐观,课下学习普遍缺乏主动性和自我约束力,努力程度不够;(2)研究对象对英语阅读与写作具有浓厚兴趣,并且使用一定的阅读策略和写作策略;(3)英语阅读能力与写作能力之间高度相关。研究结果对于理工科院校英语教师激发学生学习积极性,提高学生英语阅读和写作能力具有重要参考价值。
This paper uses the questionnaire survey and interviews to study the present situation of English reading and writing ability of 80 English majors in two science and engineering universities in Tianjin. The results show that: (1) the current situation of the overall literacy ability of the research object is not optimistic, Lack of initiative and self-restraint, and lack of effort; (2) the research subject has a keen interest in reading and writing English and uses certain reading strategies and writing strategies; and (3) there is a strong correlation between English reading ability and writing ability. The results have important reference value for English teachers in science and engineering colleges to stimulate their enthusiasm for learning and to improve their reading and writing ability in English.
