In October this year, I was honored to attend the 8th International Conference on Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) commissioned by the State Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Municipal Committee and our school. Due to funding, my delegation is composed of only one person. The briefing of this meeting is as follows. Modern scientific research shows that certain chemical factors in the environment are closely related to the incidence of cancer. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) produced during combustion prove to be associated with the incidence of lung cancer. Therefore, the research on the chemistry and biology of PAHs involves major issues in both contemporary science such as environment and cancer.
