As a country on the Baltic Sea coast in northern Europe, Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, is known as the crossroads of Europe. The local average annual temperature is only 4.7 degrees, but locals enjoy such a season. Singing is best known in Estonian culture and is also an important winter entertainment for locals. Estonians love singing and love chorus. Every five years, Estonia hosts a singing festival in Tallinn, the capital of the country. This traditional festival dating back to 1869 has become one of the largest amateur choral events in the world and was voted as a masterpiece of human oral and intangible heritage by UNESCO.
