管理科学是自然科学与社会科学的结合,是推动现代社会进步、实施科技兴国战略的重要学科门类。国家自然科学基金委员会自1986年成立之日起,就设立了管理科学组,面向全国受理与资助管理科学的项目申请,10年来为促进我国管理科学的发展作出了重要贡献,受到我国管理科学界、国家有关部门的充分肯定。为适应新形势的需要,经中央机构编制委员会批准,国家自然科学基金委员会管理科学组升格为管理科学部。
